We have been approved to accept SNAP/EBT payments at our Farmers Market! Please follow these instructions to use SNAP/EBT at the Macon County Farmers Market:

Bring your SNAP/EBT card to the market Welcome Center tent.

Swipe your card for the amount of money you want to spend.

Receive that amount of money in $1 market tokens to use on eligible products at individual farmer stands.

Shop for fresh and healthy food while supporting local farmers!

No cash back, but tokens do not expire.

We hope to participate in Grant programs that multiply SNAP/EBT dollars to spend on fruits & vegetables at our Farmers Market. We'll post more info as soon as we have the details.
Swain Macon Produce Rx Program
This program is designed to deliver fresh, locally grown, healthy food boxes every week for 26 weeks to 100 families experiencing food insecurity in Swain and Macon counties. In an effort to both support this program and help our local farmers and food producers thrive, the Macon County Farmers Market works to connect this program with our Market vendors as sources of the food items needed for the Produce Rx weekly boxes.
Produce Purchase Guarantee
A local nonprofit foundation has generously partnered with the Macon County Farmers Market to provide a Produce Purchase Guarantee for our produce vendors. For the duration of the 2024 Market Season, the foundation will purchase up to $1000 worth of perishable produce from produce vendors when the market closes each Saturday. The purchased produce will be donated to Macon County Carenet to feed food-insecure families in our county. The Macon County Farmers Market is grateful to this local foundation for its support of both our Market Vendors and Macon County Carenet.
